PREMA MUSIC
In December 1978 I made my first journey to India to meet Sai Baba. Six months later, songs began to pour out of me, and I stopped counting at 2,300 songs and 6 symphonies. As Sai Centers grew, John Hislop, the first President of the American Sai Baba Organization, was told by Swami, "Hislop, I want 80% of bhajans in America to be in English, and 20% in Indian languages." This wasn't just about America and English. All countries were encouraged to start writing bhajans in their native language. And so....I began to write English bhajans. Most of the first ones are not worth sharing. Music composition is a combination of inspiration and discipline. Sai Ram.

WHO IS SAI BABA?
What do you say when they ask, “Who’s that guy?
The man in the picture with sparkling eyes?
The fellow in orange with small gentle hands
What can you say that they’ll understand?

You tell them that all that you want is Sai’s love
If He looks in your eyes, it is more than enough
For the goal of your life is to merge into Him
And when you do, you won’t be born again

He’s the world’s greatest teacher
But that just won’t do
A great holy man, but that’s not quite true
He’s the miracle maker behind every door
Who is Sai Baba? He says He’s the Lord

When He approaches, the world disappears
And when He’s close, He is nearer than near
For He knows my mind inside and out
He lives in my heart without a doubt

He’s the world’s greatest teacher
But that just won’t do
A great holy man, but that’s not quite true
He’s the miracle maker behind every door
Who is Sai Baba? He says He’s the Lord

You can talk about miracles like raising the dead
And knowing each thought of yours
That runs through your head
He’s love everlasting and He’s everywhere
When you call His name, He hears your prayer

He’s the world’s greatest teacher
But that just won’t do
A great holy man, but that’s not quite true
He’s the miracle maker behind every door
Who is Sai Baba? He says He’s the Lord

There are countless ways to describe Sai Baba.
This song is one facet of the Infinite.
